Sue Mason is a UK-based illustrator of children's books, fanzines, and other marvelous works. Sue completed a degree in illustration and graphic design at Newcastle, before moving to London and working as a designer for the independent childrens' book publisher, Walker Books. After 10 years learning the trade, she went freelance. Sue presently lives and works in north east London, illustrating both picture books and fiction titles for a variety of publishers. She shares a studio in a converted chocolate factory with special friends. It's there that she creates quirky creatures and monsters, for big and little kids alike.

Meanwhile, Sue keeps her toe dipped in the design world by continuing to work on the original picture book list at Egmont UK. Recent clients include Faber&Faber, Walker Books, Kingfisher Publishers, A&C Black Publishers, Orchard Books, Barrington Stoke and Evans.

Sue was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Fan Artist every year from 2001-2009, and won it in 2003 and 2005.
