Shaun Tan

Shaun Tan is an Australian science fiction and fantasy illustrator and painter. He received the World Fantasy Award for Best Artist in 2007. He is best known for his picture books for children, some of which have been or are being adapted to stage or film. Five of his original works are included in the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition World Tour, touring through 2009 and into 2010.

Awards
- The Lost Thing received an Honourable Mention at the Bologna International Book Fair, Italy, was named an Honour Book at the CBCA Awards, won an Aurealis Award and a Spectrum Award for illustration in the United States.
- Memorial won an Honour Book award in the 2000 CBCA awards, won an APA Design Award for best designed children’s book and was short-listed for the Queensland Premier’s Book Awards.
- The Arrival was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Related Book in 2008.
