It does not become a shadow dance until finally two individuals (or more) are performing the same thing ... on reverse sides.

Shadow dancing occurs when two "players" Shadow Dancers -- both of whom know what is likely on -- jockey for strategic advantage. That is why it named dancing. And every person is pretending that they are not undertaking nearly anything that just isn't innocent(2).

A competent counter-dancer will instantly identify the importance of the other's maneuvering and move forward to do his own. Let's say there's a company that has been broken into numerous times. The perp isn't really walking by searching for a opportunity to commit a crime (which he is). His story is heading to be, he is just strolling to the store. And if you ask him, he'll gladly notify you that. By the very same token, you (the cop) aren't sitting there waiting for him either. You just parked there to do some paperwork, right? Now officially absolutely nothing happened. He kept walking and you held on doing your paper works. But the fact is that a crime was prevented and absolutely everyone but the taxpayers realized it.

Big or small, Shadow Dancing is about strategic positioning, deception, misdirection AND communication. Yep, you heard that right, since a large portion of the Shadow Dancers usefulness is that your would be attacker knows that you happen to be dancing correct again with him
