Luis Royo
From SFartists
Luis Royo is a Spanish artist best known for his illustrations of Julie Strain for the animated movie Heavy Metal, as well as other darkly sensuous illustrations for the magazine Heavy Metal and other publications. Royo has done covers for books, magazines, comics, cds, and video games, and brought out his own Tarot deck, called the Black Tarot, in 1998. He is at this point world-renowned; his work is distinctive and widely distributed.
Comic Images produced a collection of Trading Cards using Royo's illustrations, under the title From Fantasy to Reality, in 1993. Royo's work has also been featured regularly in calendars and in books, both solely his own and collaborations with other artists.
