John Berkey

John Berkey (1932-2008) was an artist known for his beautiful space and science fiction-themed paintings. He created some of the early artwork for the original Star Wars trilogy.
Berkey worked for eight years as an advertising agency before becoming a freelance artist in 1960s. He resided in Shorewood, Minnesota.
On March 22, 2007, Excelsior, MN honored him with "John Berkey Day."
Berkey was Artist Guest of Honor at Minicon 35 in 2000, in Minneapolis MN.
